Introduction to TAMS Laboratory at Hamburg University
Universit ä t Hamburg was founded in 1919 and is located in Hamburg, one of the three major state cities in Germany. It is the largest academic research and education center in northern Germany and one of the ten largest universities in Germany. It is a member of the German U15 University Alliance and the top university alliance in Germany - the German Elite University Alliance. TAMS Laboratory is an internationally renowned research institution that focuses on in-depth exploration and innovation in the fields of robotics technology, artificial intelligence, and multimodal information processing. The core of the research lies in the study of cross modal learning robots, aiming to achieve true universal embodied intelligence by integrating heterogeneous perceptual information from multiple sources such as vision, hearing, and somatosensory perception.
Professor Zhang Jianwei, Director of Space TAMS Research Institute, is an academician of the German National Academy of Engineering, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, an outstanding visiting professor at Tsinghua University, and also the doctoral supervisor of Shi Yunlei, the founder of Rushen Robotics. He was appointed as the Chief Scientist after co founding the company. Under the leadership of Academician Zhang Jianwei, TAMS Research Institute has made significant achievements in multiple cutting-edge fields such as machine human skill operation, multimodal human-computer interaction, and Industry 4.0 intelligent computing. It has published over 500 SCI/EI indexed papers and 6 monographs. TAMS Research Institute has received strong support from multiple projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the German Science Foundation, and has gathered top scholars and young talents from around the world to explore the future of intelligent technology together.
